Child Birth

The birthing experience is probably one of the most memorable events in one's life to go through. Yet along with this extraordinary experience often comes confusion as there is so much going on in the delivery room. You probably decided ahead of time with your Obstetrician whether or not you'll use anesthesia, or any particular birthing method. But what about your baby? Your baby's lungs, intestine, liver, kidneys, and even the brain have yet to function. These organs need only to grow and mature to be ready to assume their functions at birth. A fetal circulatory system is one of the only absolute necessities for survival. At birth, your baby undergoes the greatest change of his(her) life, that of living internally in you the mother, to surviving (with help!) in the outside world. This is an exciting moment and experience for all involved. What happens a cancer. In what is a very emotionally charged issue, the Academy of Pediatrics recently changed their position, from one of saying there was NO medical necessity for circumcision, to one saying there MAY be medical indications for circumcisn. At this time, the final choice remains a personal one for you as parents , and I believe most Pediatricians will support you either way.

The information above is a reasonable picture of what to expect during the "birthing process" and some of the choices you should think about before your due date.
